Loft Dynamics, a leader in immersive virtual reality (VR) pilot training solutions, announced that Indocopters Private Limited will install the first Airbus H125 TXi VR full-motion simulator in India. This significant installation is set to create South Asia’s initial dedicated center for H125 VR training, dramatically expanding regional capacity for pilot education.

For Indocopters, which operates as the largest specialized helicopter maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility in the Indian subcontinent, the simulator’s deployment represents a natural expansion of its commitment to safety. While the company already supports regional operators by ensuring helicopters remain airworthy, available, and ready for missions, the VR system allows Indocopters to extend its support to pilot readiness.

This timing is crucial given the recent development in India’s aviation sector. Airbus Helicopters and Tata Advanced Systems have begun manufacturing the H125 at a private-sector final assembly line located in Vemagal, Karnataka. With more than 80 H125 aircraft already operational across various nations including India, Nepal, Bhutan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, and the Maldives, increasing pilot training infrastructure is vital to keep pace with the expanding fleet.

Commitment to High Standards of Flight Readiness

“The H125 serves as the primary helicopter for multi-mission operations throughout the Indian subcontinent,” stated Ajay Shah, CEO of Indocopters Private Limited. “It supports a range of duties, from utility and corporate transport to emergency medical services, disaster response, and high-altitude missions, often within the same fleet.”

System Specifications and Regional Impact

The simulator will be utilized for specific H125 family training, covering emergency protocols, safety drills tailored to the region’s unique topography and operational challenges, as well as various basic instruction modules. The system is designed to benefit pilots across Indocopters, its affiliates—including Global Vectra Helicorp Limited, India’s largest private helicopter company—and other operators throughout South Asia.

The unit will be situated at Indocopters’ headquarters in Greater Noida, near Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL).

Indocopters’ adoption of the Loft Dynamics simulator adds essential training capability to this ecosystem, providing critical safety advantages by permitting pilots to safely rehearse high-risk or impractical flight scenarios.”

The H125 TXi VR full-motion simulator features a six-degree-of-freedom motion system and an integrated glass cockpit. The technology combines full-motion simulation with a 360-degree 3D virtual environment, force-feedback controls, and a compact design footprint. This combination allows pilots to practice normal procedures, abnormal events, emergency protocols, and mission-specific conditions in a controlled setting. Loft Dynamics noted that its flight simulation devices are considerably smaller than traditional full-flight simulators, making advanced training more practical for placement closer to operators and personnel.
