A Major Move in the Advertising Technology Landscape
The French advertising giant Publicis has completed its acquisition of AdgeAI, an Israeli startup specializing in artificial intelligence-driven marketing solutions. The deal, valued at approximately $100 million, marks a significant expansion for Publicis as it integrates AdgeAI’s technology into its broader product ecosystem. AdgeAI, which operated without external investment since its inception, was founded by twin brothers Eyal Ben Shalom and Asaf Ben Shalom just days before the October 7 attacks in Israel.
AdgeAI’s Focus on AI-Driven Marketing Automation
The startup has developed a platform of autonomous AI agents designed to streamline marketing strategies for large enterprises. Unlike generic generative AI tools, AdgeAI’s system manages end-to-end campaign execution by analyzing performance data and dynamically adjusting budgets and creative elements in real time. The technology integrates with major platforms such as Salesforce and Google Ads, enabling direct optimization of campaigns without human intervention.
Tech-Driven Growth and Industry Partnerships
AdgeAI has previously participated in Meta’s AI accelerator program in Israel and recently appointed Adam Raz as Chief Marketing Officer and Udi Avital as Chief Creative Officer—both former Meta executives. The company focuses on user acquisition (UA) by identifying high-performing audiences and refining messaging strategies at scale. Its tools reduce the time traditionally required for manual adjustments, accelerating campaign performance improvements.
Publicis’ Strategic Integration of AdgeAI’s Technology
Publicis aims to leverage AdgeAI’s capabilities to enhance its internal product offerings, providing clients with advanced analytics and creative optimization tools. The acquisition aligns with Publicis’ broader push to merge data-driven insights with human creativity, as stated by Arthur Sadoun, Chairman & CEO of Publicis Groupe. “This acquisition bridges the gap between instinct and proven performance,” he said, emphasizing the shift from retrospective analysis to predictive campaign management.
Broader Context in the Israeli Tech Ecosystem
The deal reflects growing international interest in Israel’s AI and marketing technology startups. AdgeAI joins a list of recent acquisitions, including Nvidia’s $60 million purchase of Illumex and Palo Alto Networks’ acquisition of Koi for $400 million. These transactions highlight the global demand for Israeli innovation in automation and data analytics, particularly within the advertising sector.
