New sales reports detailing Amazon US CPU activity for July and August 2026 indicate a notable recovery for Intel processors, while AMD’s popular lines experienced a decline in market presence. Although overall consumer demand for CPUs remained relatively stable, the shift in sales volume between the two major competitors was evident.

According to hardware sales reports from TechEpiphany, the total units sold on Amazon US saw a modest decline, moving from approximately 37,050 units in July to 36,550 units in August, representing a slight decrease of 1.3%. Despite this minor drop in volume, total revenue actually climbed by 5.9%, increasing from $10.76 million to $11.40 million.

Performance Breakdown: Intel Gains Ground
Intel significantly outperformed its rival, dramatically increasing its market share. Intel’s unit sales jumped from 5,100 units in July to 7,800 units in August, marking an increase of approximately 53%. This strong performance boosted Intel’s share of Amazon US CPU sales from 13.8% in July to 21.3% in August.
This improved performance is attributed largely to the momentum surrounding the Arrow Lake processors. Sales of these CPUs more than doubled, rising from 1,750 units in July to 4,050 units in August, consequently increasing their overall market share from 4.7% to 11.1%. The Core Ultra 7 270K Plus component saw one of the most pronounced increases, jumping from 500 units to 2,000 units, which represents a 300% rise. Furthermore, the Core Ultra 5 250K Plus performed well, increasing sales from 400 units to 1,000 units.
It was also noted that Intel saw a corresponding increase in its GPU market share on Amazon, even as graphics card prices remain high.
Analysis of AMD Market Trends
In contrast to Intel’s gains, AMD experienced declines across several of its major product lines. The overall share for the AM5 platform dropped from 50.9% to 46.6%, and the older AM4 platform saw its share fall from 35.4% to 32%. The unit sales for the Ryzen 5 5500 declined by 21%, reaching 4,000 units, while the Ryzen 7 7800X3D units decreased from 3,000 to 2,000.
Despite the overall decline, AMD maintained strength in its high-end X3D processors. The Ryzen 7 9800X3D remained the top-selling individual CPU on Amazon US, holding steady at around 5,000 units in both months, and slightly increasing its market share from 13.5% to 13.7%. Additionally, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D doubled its sales, increasing from 1,000 units to 2,000 units.
