The Toronto International Film Festival’s official marketplace section, TIFF: The Market, has announced the lineup for its brand-new Innovation Hub. This dedicated hub will feature eight distinct projects focused on cutting-edge immersive storytelling formats, including Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), and Mixed Reality (MR).
Project Scope and International Reach
The curated selection showcases diverse cinematic talent and technology from across the globe. The featured works originate from Canada, France, Denmark, the United States, Germany, Belgium, Taiwan, Greenland, and the Netherlands, offering a variety of world, North American, and Canadian premieres.
According to Charles Tremblay, Head of TIFF: The Market, the Innovation Hub represents the future direction of the industry. He stated that the initiative gathers together inventive filmmakers, advanced technologies, and innovative narrative structures, thereby redefining how content is developed, produced, and experienced by audiences.

The Innovation Hub will be housed on the 200-level floor of the Metro Toronto Convention Centre. It will be accessible to all registered attendees throughout the seven days that TIFF: The Market runs, which is scheduled for September 10–16.
