NVIDIA has announced a comprehensive presence at QuakeCon 2026, the 30th annual gathering celebrating id Software. Attendees visiting the GeForce booth between August 6th and August 9th are invited to take part in various giveaways, competitions, and prize opportunities.
GPU Availability and Upgrades
Attendees interested in upgrading their graphics hardware will have access to Verified Priority Access IRL through the NVIDIA team at QuakeCon. This special access allows participants to purchase Founders Edition GeForce RTX 5090, 5080, and 5070 GPUs at the Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP), subject to stock availability.
Gaming Challenges and Competitions
Multiple challenges are scheduled for attendees who wish to compete for GPU prizes. Participants can test their skills in the Quake III Arena RTX Remix and DOOM: The Dark Ages | Revelations challenges. The top player in each competition will receive a GeForce RTX 5070 Founders Edition GPU, while runners-up will receive NVIDIA branded merchandise.
The QuakeCon Mod Contest
For those participating in the QuakeCon Bring Your Own Computer (BYOC) LAN event, GeForce Garage will host the official QuakeCon Mod Contest. This competition aims to reward the creators of the best modified PCs and scratch-built systems. The total prize pool for this contest is $10,000, surpassing the total awarded in the previous year.
Winners of the Mod Contest will receive GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs. Furthermore, prize recipients will also receive gift cards for Bitspower watercooling components and TRYX All In One CPU coolers. The grand prize winner will be selected to travel to NVIDIA’s headquarters in California to feature in a special Rig Spotlight video.
To participate, entrants must submit a form, specifying whether their system is a Case Mod (modifications made to existing chassis) or a Scratch Build (a PC housed in a non-standard enclosure). Participants must bring their PC to QuakeCon, ensuring it is set up before Thursday, when judging begins. Note that previous contest winners are ineligible to re-enter unless substantial modifications have been completed since their last entry, and the entrant must have completed at least 75% of the work.
Additional Giveaways and Live Coverage
Beyond the main contests, attendees can find other giveaways at the GeForce booth. Limited quantities of GeForce Trading Cards, featuring 14 notable moments in gaming history, are available, though collection requires trading with fellow attendees.
GeForce Evangelist Jacob Freeman and the GeForce team are also expected to distribute random swag throughout the show. For those unable to attend in person, a livestream will be available from Robeytech, broadcast on the Robeytech or NVIDIA Twitch channels starting Saturday, August 8th, at 11 AM PT, which will also feature giveaways.
