Anthropic has disclosed that its annualized revenue run rate reached $65 billion by the end of July. This figure represents a substantial increase, marking a sevenfold rise compared to the same period last year, according to sources familiar with the company’s financial updates.

Financial Performance and Market Comparison

The company, known for its Claude models, shared the impressive financial metric with investors over the weekend. This significant climb in revenue underscores the growing adoption and popularity of Anthropic’s enterprise tools. Adding to the financial data, the firm also provided a preliminary figure for its second-quarter revenue, which stood at $11.5 billion—a jump of 14 times compared to the previous year.

The latest $65 billion run rate represents a notable escalation from previous reports; in May, Anthropic had stated that its run rate surpassed $47 billion. For context, the company’s revenue for all of 2025 was roughly $10 billion. In contrast, chief competitor OpenAI reported that its own annualized revenue run rate had recently climbed to $40 billion.

IPO Progress and Industry Challenges

Anthropic is currently preparing for what is anticipated to be a significant Initial Public Offering (IPO). The company formally submitted its prospectus to the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in June and has since been engaging in preliminary discussions with potential investors, although no official timeline for its market debut has been provided.

The company has faced notable operational and regulatory hurdles. Earlier this year, Anthropic was blacklisted by the Pentagon after discussions regarding military use of its models became complicated. Furthermore, in June, Anthropic was forced to temporarily restrict access to two of its most advanced models, Claude Fable 5 and Mythos 5, to comply with an export control directive issued by national security authorities.

Following approximately two weeks of intensive negotiations, Anthropic successfully restored access to these models. The company stated in a June blog post, acknowledging the disruption:

We look forward to deepening our government collaboration, and we’re also grateful to our users for bearing with us through this disruption, and to the researchers and industry partners who worked alongside us to make Fable 5 and Mythos 5 available again.

Leadership and Future Outlook

Dario Amodei, the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Anthropic, was recently visible at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland, speaking on January 20, 2026.

Despite these disruptions and the ambitious $965 billion valuation the company is aiming to justify, Anthropic aims to demonstrate continued momentum to its investors.
